About the Visitation Center

The Wesley Center provides Visitation Services to state wards, birth through eighteen(18), and their families.

We will provide visits in a family-centered, community based and culturally competent manner. This visitation service will be held in a separate location within the house from the shelter and respite services.

The Visitation Center is open from 7am to 9:30pm, seven days a week and on all holidays. The Department shall contact the Visitation Center regarding a visitation plan they have established, per client, in which the Center will follow.

The Visitation Center will have a staff present during the entire supervised visit. We are responsible for observing, redirecting, and documenting visits. We will provide necessary intervention if safety of the youth is in question. We have two living rooms, a dining room, three bathrooms, an art room and a kitchen the visitors can utilize. If a visit occurs during meal time, the Visitation Center can provide a meal or the visiting family can bring in and/or cook their own food. The only transportation we will provide, at this time, is for the child only, during the visit, we can meet the family at a public setting (such as McDonalds) to supervise the visit during a meal.

Each family will have an on-going file with an intake packet and reports from every visit at the Visitation Center. The family's file is available to HHS at any time.

All referrals for the Visitation Center will come from HHS with visits planned in advance to allow for the coordination of staff services. The process of a visitation referral is simple and the paperwork is minimal.
