The Wesley Center provides Respite services for children birth to eighteen (18). Our maximum capacity for children in respite is 8.
Our services are intended to provide a break for relative caretakers or foster parents and the child from one another. Respite services should be planned in advance but will be available on an emergency or crisis situation. We have a contract with HHS only for the admittance of children in respite. The length of stay for a youth in respite is to be determined by the Department.
We will provide all basic necessities for the child(ren) while in our care. We will transport to school, the doctor, counseling, etc. within a 25-mile radius. While the child is here, this is their home, and every effort will be made to make them feel as comfortable as possible.
We will also supervise visits at the Respite Center for the child and biological parents (if HHS approved) for up to an hour per day, seven days a week.
All children staying at the Respite Center will have a personal file with a respite intake packet and daily logging sheets. The child's file is available to HHS at any time.
The Director is on-call 24 hours-a-day for the admittance of youth into the Respite Center. The process is simple and the paperwork is minimal. If an intake occurs during the over night hours, the admitting case worker may wait until the following morning to complete the intake packet.
